The Exchange Authority is a proud member of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA). The FEA is a national trade association for 1031 exchange activity. We at the Exchange Authority pride ourselves in being leaders in the industry and our affiliation with FEA provides us with information that deals with changes in legislation, government intervention activity and lobbying to preserve the benefits IRC 1031.
The many advantages of being a member of the FEA include their strong accountability to set standards and guidelines that support safe and beneficial transactions. When qualified intermediaries need a collective voice to express issues that might impact their exchange practices for clients, the FEA will lobby with the Government Affairs Committee as well as other government organizations, and is proactive in responding to most state or federal activity on behalf of its members.
The FEA is one of a few organizations that present information and comment to the IRS, the Department of the Treasury, the House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate Committee and other government organizations that may have a role in tax laws and legislation. By monitoring regulatory actions, the FEA ensures that QI’s, their clients and financial partners have access to the most current tax deferred legislation.
The FEA sets standards and educates consumers. They work hard to provide tools, resources, and legislative updates to member companies. Most importantly, they support legislation to ensure that the industry and the client are protected.
The Exchange Authority has been a member in good standing of the FEA since the early 1990’s. We continue to attend conventions and receive weekly and monthly updates helping us stay current on all 1031 matters, so that we may better educate and advise our clients.
